No Spyware / Adware

TheBalancedChild has a strict policy against spyware and adware, and have taken commercially reasonable precautions to protect us and our users from such unwanted prying.

Spyware is defined as "software that aids in gathering information about a person or organization without their consent, or asserts control over a computer without the consumer's knowledge."

There are basically 3 major types of spyware and TheBalancedChild has a strict policy against them all:

·          Keystroke Loggers trap keystrokes to capture information such as user names, passwords, and critical financial information like credit-card details.

·          Trojan horses are destructive programs that masquerade as helpful ones on your computer. Once a trojan horse is allowed into your system, it can maliciously harm your system. An example would be a program that pops up countless ads claiming to help you get rid of pop-ups and computer viruses.

We maintain a strict policy against all types of spyware including these 3 major types, and strictly enforce this policy on our users as well.
